MASTER OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY

From 1998 to 2008 R. L. Learning Designs provided ongoing learning design support for the Master of Business and Technology (MBT) program at the University of New South Wales. The MBT program is delivered in both distance and face to face mode, although approximately 80% of the over 1000 students study in distance mode. MBT students are based around Australia and abroad.

Ruth Laxton's work involved advising on broad educational design issues across the program and developing resources for flexible delivery including print resources and web based interactive classes.

She was also responsible for training and supporting academics in teaching online using the UNSW developed software, WebTeach ®.

In 2005, Ruth and the teaching group for the Project Management course in the MBT program published a paper on the online teaching of project management in the program for the Project Management Australia Conference. Read the paper: Making Project Management Education Happen - Online!
